The Haitian Congregation has a vibrant and active youth ministry. Each Sunday every child actively participates in the service. Some examples include playing musical instruments, serving on the altar and liturgical dance.
After worship we have an active and vibrant Sunday School program from the children nearly every week. We discuss the Bible, church history and lessons that the children can directly apply to their lives. Our objective is to form our children as disciples of Jesus Christ. Our philosophy is that the children the future of the church, and they are also the present.
Each summer we take the children and their parents to a camp for a week. The camp allows the children to experience nature, to pray and study God’s word together and to play.
Men of the church
For the past 45 years the women of the church have been the driving force that keeps the embers of faith burning. The women have an active ministry that includes a Thursday evening telephone prayer service and pastoral visits to the sick and elderly. Frequently the women will prepared a meal for the congregation after worship.
Women of the church
Because the members of our congregation come from all over the New York City area, our worship would not be possible without the woulib ministry that our men provide. The men provide adult Bible study after worship, and the men provide leadership during worship.
